Frequently Asked Questions
Why 12 pouches? That seems like a lot.
It is — and that’s the point. Twelve pouches at $7.08 each is meaningfully better than buying one at a time, and dulse keeps for well over a year. If you go through a pouch a month, this is your year sorted.
Can I buy fewer than 12?
Not here — the 12-pack case is what we sell on this site. For smaller amounts, our 3-pack is on Amazon. If you haven’t tried dulse before, start there.
Can I mix pack sizes or products in one case?
No — this box is 12 × 56 g whole leaf, exactly as pictured.
I want more than 12. What then?
Order more than one case, or email us and we’ll sort it out with you directly.
Can I change or cancel after I've ordered?
Once we’ve started packing, no. If you catch it quickly, email us and we’ll do what we can — but no promises once it’s in the queue.
How much is shipping?
It depends where in Canada you are — the rate is calculated from your postal code and shown at checkout before you pay. Add the box to your cart to see your exact cost.
Do I pay less shipping per pouch buying 12 than buying 12 singles?
Yes, considerably. One box costs far less to send than twelve separate parcels, and that saving is a real part of what makes this worth doing.
Do you ship to the U.S. or internationally?
Not yet. Canada only for now.
When will it arrive?
Your box leaves our facility within 5 business days, then it’s standard transit time to you. We’re on Grand Manan Island, so weather or the ferry occasionally adds a day or two — we’ll email you if that happens.
Will I get a tracking number?
Yes, by email as soon as your box ships.
What does dulse actually taste like?
Salty and savoury, with a deep, almost bacony note when it’s dry. It’s a strong flavour — most people either love it immediately or take a few tries to come around. Worth knowing before you commit to twelve.
How do I eat it?
Straight from the pouch is the honest answer. Otherwise tear it into soups, broths, salads, grain bowls, or crisp it in a dry pan for a minute and crumble it over anything. Our recipes page has more.
How long does it keep?
Best before June 15, 2027. Store it cool and dry and it stays good the whole way; freeze it and it’ll go further still.
Do I need to refrigerate it?
No. A cupboard is fine. Freezing is optional and only for the long haul.
Is it really just seaweed?
One ingredient: wild-harvested dulse from Grand Manan Island. Sun-dried, hand-inspected, nothing added. Certified organic by Pro-Cert, packed in a HACCP-approved Canadian facility. Vegan, gluten-free, MSG-free.
What about iodine?
Dulse is naturally a good source of iodine, which is part of why people eat it. If you manage a thyroid condition or you’re watching your iodine intake, it’s worth a word with your doctor or dietitian about what’s right for you.
Can I return it if I don't like it?
No — and we’d rather be upfront than surprise you. Shipping a full case back across the country costs more than the box is worth. That’s exactly why we point you to the 3-pack on Amazon first if dulse is new to you.
What if my box arrives damaged?
Send us a photo within 48 hours and we’ll replace it or credit you. That one’s on us.
What if a pouch is past its date or doesn't seem right?*
Email us with the photo and lot details. We’ll make it right — we’re a small operation and we’d rather hear about it.
Can I resell these?
Yes. Plenty of Canadian cafés, markets and health food shops stock it exactly this way. The 56 g pouch is built for a shelf — it has its own barcode, nutrition panel and best-before date.
Do you offer trade pricing or an account?
Not at the moment — this box is the same price for everyone. If you’re ordering regularly or in volume, get in touch and let’s talk.
Can I get product images or info for my listing?
Yes — email us and we’ll send photos and product details.
