About Us

We harvest local seaweed sustainably from the clear, cold waters of the North Atlantic that surround Grand Manan Island.

Our Story

We don’t just harvest dulse; we live by the rhythm of the Bay of Fundy tides. Every year, our team heads to the water to hand-gather dulse at its peak, letting the salt air and the sun handle the drying process just as it’s been done for generations.

While we now handle tonnes of quality harvest to meet global demand, Atlantic Mariculture remains a local operation at heart. We are dedicated to the craft of grading and packing every bag by hand, ensuring the nutritional integrity of the Bay is preserved in every leaf.

The Original Dulse Harvesters of Grand Manan Island

Since 1974, we’ve been working the shores of Grand Manan Island. In 1993, we took that commitment further by becoming one of the first organically certified seaweed producers in the world.

Our mission is rooted in Dark Harbour. The towering cliffs there provide a unique natural advantage, shading the dulse from the early morning sun while it’s bathed in the cold, clear North Atlantic.

The result is “Dark Harbour Dulse”—thicker, darker, and more flavorful than anything else in the water. We’re proud to share the best of our island with the rest of the world.
